The used truck market does not feel the strength to rise

The Russian market of used trucks in March decreased by 11% to 26.9 thousand cars, of which the share of Russian brands accounted for 46.8% or 12.6 thousand units, the share of foreign cars amounted to 53.2% or 14.3 thousand trucks, respectively, according to Autostat. In the first quarter, the secondary truck market decreased by 5.3% year-on-year to 68.5 thousand vehicles. The ratio of foreign cars and Russian brands for this period is the same as in March – 46% and 53% or 36.4 thousand and 32.1 thousand cars, respectively. Sales of Chinese brands in the used truck market in March increased 1.5 times to 2.7 thousand, taking 10% of the market against 6% (1.8 thousand) for the same period in 2023. The Big Seven, despite a 22% loss by re-registration (up to 7.4 thousand), retained a share of 28% against 31.5% a year earlier. In the first quarter, Big7 took 28.8% (19.7 thousand units) of the secondary market against 32.5% (23.5 thousand units) a year earlier. Chinese brands occupied 9.4% of the used truck market (about 6.5 thousand units of equipment), whereas a year earlier 5.6% from 4.0 thousand units of re-registration.
