On September 4th, the sowing of winter wheat began in the velayats of Turkmenistan. Farmers in the Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary velayats have embarked on this important agricultural campaign aimed at ensuring food abundance, reports TDH.
As per tradition, elders offered prayers for a bountiful harvest and sowed the first wheat seeds, passing the baton to the mechanized farmers. The country's farmers responsibly prepared the fields for sowing, having procured seeds of high-yield wheat varieties.
On the occasion of the start of wheat sowing, seminars were held in the "Ak üzüm" farms of the Ak Bugday district of Ahal velayat and "Batly mülkdar" of the Kizil-Arvat district of Balkan velayat, in the "Türkmenistan" farming associations of the Boldumsaz district of Dashoguz velayat, "Watan" of the Charjew district of Lebap velayat, and "Türkmenistan" of the Vekilbazar district of Mary velayat. These seminars included representatives of velayat and district administrations, heads of farming associations, agronomists, mechanized farmers, tenant farmers, and respected elders.
The discussions focused on the organized conduct of the sowing campaign, the use of modern agricultural techniques, and advanced practices in grain cultivation.
Additionally, an exhibition of agricultural products and modern equipment was organized. To mark the start of the sowing season, song and music performances were held everywhere.
