On April 22, the 3rd meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Romanian Commission on Road Transport, as well as the 4th meeting of the Turkmen-Romanian Working Group on cooperation in the field of transport, took place in the building of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania.
The Turkmen delegation was headed by Guvanchmyrat Akmammedov, Head of the agency "Turkmenavtoulaglary" of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the high level of interstate cooperation was noted, based on the principles of mutual trust and mutual benefit. In accordance with the agenda, the issues of implementation of previously reached agreements and prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in the transit and transport sector were considered. Noting the high level of partnership, the parties exchanged views on the possibility of expanding mutually acceptable cooperation in the field of transport. Issues related to international freight transport between the two countries, the state of international road transport and the possibility of their further development were also discussed.
The parties paid special attention to the creation of the international transport corridor "Caspian Sea - Black Sea", noting with satisfaction the ongoing work on the draft quadrilateral Agreement between the Governments of Turkmenistan, Romania, Georgia and Azerbaijan, which will make a great contribution to the development of international freight transport and logistics between Central Asia and Europe.
