According to the results of the first four months of 2024, the number of departures of China – Europe freight trains increased by 10% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 6,184, Xinhua news agency reports, citing data from the Chinese Railways Corporation (KZhD).
In January-April, these freight trains transported a total of about 675 thousand TEU, 11% more than a year earlier, the KZhD reported.
According to the corporation, as of the end of April this year, the number of China–Europe freight train departures reached 89 thousand, and their route network covered 223 cities in 25 European countries.
