Romanian Energy Minister, Romanian co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation with Azerbaijan Sebastian-Ioan Burduja called Azerbaijan an important "bridge" between the Caspian and Black Seas on the way of transporting goods from Asia to Europe, Trend reported on Monday following the results of the 8th meeting of this commission in Baku.

"The development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor (TM) is very important in the current difficult realities in the context of cargo delivery from Asia to Europe and vice versa. There is a problem of the Suez Canal, and therefore the role of alternative corridors is growing," Burduja said.

Samir Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, who spoke during the meeting, noted the prospects for the participation of Romanian companies in TMTM.
