Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin held a strategic session on the development of the shipbuilding industry, where participants discussed its civil direction, the press service of the Government of the Russian Federation reports.

"The largest industry integrated structure is the United Shipbuilding Corporation. It includes up to 80% of all production capacities. It is necessary to create a list of measures that will ensure the effective organization of production – both in terms of applied technologies and in terms of operational processes," M.Mishustin said.

He noted that under the conditions of sanctions, the industry faced the most serious challenges. All foreign vessels that were involved in the transportation of Russian goods left the Russian transport services market, which required the speedy renewal and expansion of the domestic fleet.

Well-established cooperative ties between enterprises were also severed. The Western partners, in violation of all agreements, refused to continue cooperation with our companies. And now it is very important to continue the development and creation of a number of modern high-tech components and products.

"The President stressed that it is necessary to more actively develop their own competencies in the field of shipbuilding. To achieve technological sovereignty in critical positions of ship equipment, the most important production processes," M.Mishustin said. – It is important that, despite all the difficulties, the industry continues its dynamic work. Enterprises use all measures of state support, both specialized and system–wide, including preferential programs through the Industrial Development Fund."

"Last year, more than 100 units of equipment for various purposes were built. Including two Aframax tankers at the Zvezda complex in Primorsky Krai. The Alexander Deev automobile and railway ferry for the route between Sakhalin and the mainland is at the shipyard in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. An offshore platform with a liquefied natural gas storage facility for the first stage of the Arctic LNG 2 project is located at a site in the Murmansk Region. As well as fishing and crab vessels – at factories in different regions of the country."

Now the manufacturers' order portfolio is growing, at the moment it exceeds 300 sea and river vessels. The long-term plan provides for the construction of over 1.7 thousand units in the civilian segment by 2037.
