A mass bike ride in honor of World Health Day will be held in the capital of Turkmenistan

A mass bike ride and other sports events in honor of World Health Day will be held in the capital of Turkmenistan. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers N.Amannepesov at a meeting of the Government of the country via video link.

He noted that these actions are carried out in order to establish the principles of an active lifestyle in society, widely attract the younger generation to sports, strengthen public health and increase human life expectancy.

As reported, it is planned to organize a mass bike ride in Ashgabat, which traditionally starts from the monument "Bicycle", located at the intersection of Chandybil Avenue and Bekreve Street. Also on this day, the athletes of the national teams of Turkmenistan, who took first places in international competitions and won gold medals, will be awarded at the martial arts sports complex of the capital's Olympic town. The ceremony honoring the country's athletes who have successfully performed and won second and third places in prestigious international tournaments will be held at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.

On the occasion of Health Day, round tables, scientific and practical conferences, propaganda, physical culture, sports, wellness and cultural events will be held in the velayats, as well as in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag from April 1 to 7. Students of secondary schools of the country, students of vocational, secondary and higher educational institutions, employees of enterprises and institutions, athletes will take an active part in them.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that World Health Day is widely celebrated in Turkmenistan. This international holiday, which strengthens harmony and unity, is of great importance in affirming the principles of a healthy lifestyle in society, popularizing physical education and sports. In this regard, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to hold sports, recreational and cultural events, mass bike runs at a high level.
