CMA CGM has announced a partnership with Folk Maritime, Saudi Arabia's new feeder carrier. As part of the CMA partnership, CGM offers an expanded service in the northern part of the Red Sea, where merchant shipping has not been affected by Houthi attacks.
According to a statement released by the French logistics group, the joint updated service will connect the port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia with NEOM, the ports of Sohna in Egypt, Aqaba in Jordan and Yanbu in Saudi Arabia.
Two container ships will provide a weekly frequency on the service. The service starts with the departure of the JIN SHUN HE vessel from Jeddah on April 9.
The company was headed by the former head of Hambug Sued, Paul Hestback. Folk Maritime launched with two services at once. CMA CGM has joined the first – a weekly service linking Jeddah, Neom and Yanbu in Saudi Arabia and the Egyptian port of Sokhna. The updated rotation will also include a port in Jordan from April. The second Folk Maritime service connects the Sadovsk ports with Sudan once every two weeks.
