President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Iran's Minister of Energy Abbas Ali Abadi and Chairman of the Central Bank of Iran Mohammadreza Farzi. During the visit, issues of expanding bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector and diversifying energy supplies to global markets were discussed, reports TDH.
As noted, the fraternal and good-neighborly relations between Turkmenistan and Iran have deep historical roots and today traditionally develop based on principles of mutual respect and understanding, both bilaterally and within international organizations.
Trade and economic cooperation is one of the priority areas of bilateral relations. Iran occupies an important place in Turkmenistan's foreign trade turnover.
As is known, Turkmenistan advocates for the diversification of energy supplies to global markets. Currently, our country is working with its partners on the implementation of several significant energy projects. Emphasizing that these activities are carried out with consideration for environmental safety, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to support initiatives and proposals aimed at further developing and strengthening bilateral relations.
