A briefing on the topic "Goals, objectives, achievements and prospects of CARICC as a regional mechanism for countering the drug threat" was held yesterday in Ashgabat. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The briefing was organized by the Central Asian Regional Information Coordination Center (CARICC) jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event was attended by representatives of the relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, heads and experts of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the country.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova noted in her speech that Turkmenistan will continue to actively promote international and regional cooperation in overcoming modern threats and challenges, including within the framework of CARICC projects.
CARICC Director A. Yazlyev and UNODC Regional Representative O. Stolpe also spoke at the opening of the briefing.
The participants were presented with the results of CARICC's work at the regional and international levels. During the briefing, the possibilities of expanding cooperation in combating international drug trafficking were discussed, the source notes.
