Our Motherland is one of the early centers of the emergence of the art of singing and music. Turkmens played a significant role in enriching world culture and spreading its achievements, made a significant contribution to the development and improvement of handicrafts, pottery and jewelry, carpet weaving, architecture, seisovaniye and especially song and music art. Famous performers and singers, who masterfully played the mesmerizing sounding musical instruments - dutar, gijak, gargy-tuyduk and gopuz, created various techniques and schools of this art.
The significant role of national song and music creativity is fully evidenced by the inclusion of the epic art of "Gorogly", the art of singing and dancing "kushtdepdi", the craftsmanship of making the dutar, performing musical art on it and the art of bakhshi in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization - UNESCO.
