The Turkmen city of Arkadag received three awards at the World Smart City Expo 2024, held in Goyang, Republic of Korea, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Korea.
The "smart city" of Arkadag was the first to be awarded at the ceremony. The Turkmen delegation received the following three awards:
1. Excellence Award – for outstanding achievements (Arkadag was the only city to receive this award).
2. Foreign City Award – for being an exemplary foreign city.
3. WSCE 2024 Contribution Award – for contributions to the development of WSCE 2024.
During the award ceremony, the head of the Turkmen delegation, D. Orazov, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City under the President of Turkmenistan, delivered a speech of gratitude.
In his speech, he noted the high level of organization of the event, stating that the exhibition showcased technologies and systems that meet the modern requirements of "smart cities." He also emphasized that the awards given to the "smart city" of Arkadag reflect the achievements of Turkmenistan's urban development policies.
Previously, it was reported that Turkmenistan presented the new city of Arkadag at the World Smart City Expo in the Republic of Korea.
