Turkmenistan and TURKSOY Discuss Prospects of Cultural Cooperation

In Ashgabat, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and a delegation led by the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultan Rayev. The agenda of the meeting included current issues of cooperation and promising areas of partnership between Turkmenistan and TURKSOY, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.

2024 is a significant year for Turkmenistan in the Turkic-speaking world. This year, significant dates are celebrated by TURKSOY: the announcement of the "Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world - Magtumguly Pragy" and the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great classic of Eastern literature. Also, the ancient Turkmen city of Anew was chosen as the cultural capital of the Turkic world.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the organization of upcoming joint events aimed at popularizing the work of Magtumguly Pragy and the cultural significance of the city of Anew. At the end of the meeting, the parties emphasized the fruitful nature of the interaction aimed at preserving and popularizing the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples.
