On August 28, as part of the working visit of the Turkmen delegation headed by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Tehran, a meeting was held between the heads of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed the current state of cooperation between the customs services of the two countries, as well as prospects for further development of cooperation. Considering the positive impact of information exchange on increasing trade turnover between the two countries, attention was paid to the exchange of preliminary data on goods and vehicles, customs statistics, and data on prices for goods.
In addition, the issue of organizing exchange visits for delegations of the parties was discussed in order to exchange best practices in the field of personnel training, improving their professional level, as well as the use of technical means of customs control, digital customs, electronic declaration, and an electronic information exchange mechanism.
During the visit, the heads of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran signed a Cooperation Plan for 2025-2026.
