CASIC tests super train capable of reaching 1,000 km/h

The China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) has successfully tested an innovative train capable of reaching speeds of up to 1,000 km/h. The testing took place in Datong, Shanxi Province, in a special low-vacuum tube two kilometers long.

During the tests of the super express prototype, the maximum speed and suspension height were confirmed to meet the specified parameters. The train demonstrated stability while moving and safe braking. Specialists also tested the operation of the navigation system in low vacuum conditions.

The creation of a new transportation system (UHS) in Shanxi Province was launched by CASIC in 2022. In the future, it will significantly reduce travel time between Chinese megacities, for example, cover the distance from Beijing to Shanghai in just an hour and a half.
