Kazakhstan announced a discount on the transit of goods along the North—South corridor up to 50%

A meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation Serik Jumangarin and Alexey Overchuk took place in Astana. This was announced on July 26 by the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, stressing that the meeting was initiated by the Russian side.
As noted in the press release, Serik Jumangarin noted mutual interest in expanding the potential of the North-South international transport corridor and the active participation of representatives of the Russian Federation in the first North—South transport trade and export forum, held on July 19-20 in Aktau.
"At the transport forum, the Kazakh side announced a discount on the transit of all types of goods along the North—South corridor up to 50%; together with Russia, Turkmenistan, and Iran, they signed a roadmap on the development of the potential of the eastern branch of the corridor," Jumangarin said. — Within the framework of priority projects for the EAEU aimed at the development of the eastern branch of the North—South, we will implement integration infrastructure projects together with Russian partners. In general, industrial cooperation between our countries is developing well — these are 136 projects totaling $26.4 billion. 38 joint projects have been successfully implemented, and 28 worth $1.9 billion are currently in the works."
