Milad Salehi, Director General of the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran, announced that Turkmenistan will begin transit of sulfur via the Rasht-Caspian railway.

According to him, a significant increase in the transit of railway goods along this route is expected, and the transit of Turkmen sulfur through this line will begin next week.

Salehi noted that the Rasht-Caspian railway connects the Caspian Sea with the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, and also connects the north and south of the country. This section is part of the international North–South transport corridor. Sulfur will be delivered from the port of Turkmenbashi to the port of Caspian and then by rail through Iran.
