Euro-7 standards for trucks will not be as strict as expected. The EU has adopted a new decision

22.06.2024
The EU countries, under the chairmanship of Spain, discussed in detail the Euro-7 emission standard and decided to weaken future standards. Accordingly, the EU has not changed its position on existing emission limits and test conditions for light commercial vehicles. However, for heavy-duty vehicles, lower emission limits and slightly modified test conditions will apply. In addition, it is planned to develop special rules for city buses. In addition, limits should be placed on emissions unrelated to exhaust gases, such as particulate matter from brakes and tires. Minimum requirements for the battery life of electric vehicles and more stringent requirements for the service life of cars will also be established.
