Turkmenistan and India strengthen cooperation in the field of maritime transportation

The Chairman of the «Türkmendeňizderýaýollary» Agency held talks with the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan. The parties considered the possibility of cargo transit through the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi, which has great potential. The diplomat said that more than 30 Indian companies are interested in using the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, which occupies an important place in the international North-South transport corridor. In response, representatives of Turkmendenizderyaellar suggested that the Indian side establish an exchange of experience in port management. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to make every effort to develop cooperation in the field of maritime transportation. Projects on the formation of a multifactorial logistics system are being actively implemented in Turkmenistan, in particular, the infrastructure of the maritime transport network is being expanded. One of such large-scale facilities commissioned in 2018 was the Turkmenbashi International Port on the Caspian coast.
