Dear workers in the field of environmental protection!
Dear compatriots!
I cordially congratulate you on the occasion of the publication in the year "The Storehouse of the Mind of Magtumguly Pragy" of the era of the Renaissance of a new era of a powerful state of the 4th edition of the Red Book of Turkmenistan, which plays a great role in environmental protection!
The love of nature is inextricably linked with the mentality, life, way of life, traditions and culture of the Turkmen people. Our ancestors formed their own ways and principles of harmonious living with beautiful nature – the source of life. These humane traditions of our people, originating from the depths of centuries, which have become a part of his life, are of great importance. Such an attitude to the careful preservation of the environment, coupled with various activities in order to find the right solutions to global issues of humanity, is currently acquiring new content and is further developing.
Dear readers!
Every corner of the native Homeland has a unique, peculiar feature. The treasury of Kopetdag is the biodiversity of flora and fauna, the Karakum steppe is one of the largest deserts in the world, the unique beauty of Badhyz, the Caspian Sea – all this is our independent state with unique and peculiar landscapes that have become world famous and are of great interest to scientists and travelers.
The main objectives of the state environmental policy are to ensure a favorable environment for Turkmen residents, the rational use of natural resources, the enrichment of flora and fauna, and the careful preservation of beautiful nature for future generations.
Turkmenistan consistently implements a purposeful domestic and foreign policy of universal importance. Contributing to international efforts to achieve sustainable development is an essential component of our state's foreign policy strategy. At top-level forums and meetings of the United Nations General Assembly, neutral Turkmenistan put forward a number of significant initiatives on environmental protection, careful use of water and energy resources, ensuring food security, reducing the risks of climate change and natural disasters, made regional and world-class proposals for a comprehensive solution to environmental issues in the Aral Sea region, preserving the ecological well-being of the Caspian Sea. The successful implementation in the country of the Sustainable Development Program adopted by the Member Countries of the United Nations is a vivid evidence that our modern initiatives are being implemented in practice.
Dear compatriots!
Caring for nature is a sacred duty of everyone, caring for nature concerns all people. Every citizen of Turkmenistan should protect natural resources like the apple of his eye. It is necessary to take appropriate measures to protect wild animals and vegetation in nature reserves, increase their numbers, carefully preserve places with beautiful nature, and conduct in-depth scientific research. The Red Book of Turkmenistan, a source of scientific research on biodiversity, is of great importance in preserving the unique gene pool of the flora and fauna of the Motherland. I firmly believe that the work on reliable protection and reproduction of species included in the Red Book will contribute to the conservation of biodiversity not only in our country and the region, but also on the planet as a whole.
