Iranian Minister of Highways and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash, during his visit to Yazd province on Sunday, unveiled an important Yazd-Eglid railway project during an official ceremony.
The Yazd-Eglid Railway, which is considered as a connecting route along the Northeast-Southwest and Southeast-Southwest railway corridors in Iran, has a length of 270 km and 49 km of station lines at 12 stations.
245 km of this extended project are located in Yazd province and 25 km in Fars province.
This project provides the southwestern provinces of Iran with access to the provinces of Hormozgan, Kerman, Sistan and Baluchistan, South Khorasan and Razavi Khorasan by reducing the distance by rail by more than 310 kilometers.
