Sarp border checkpoint has reached record exit figures

31.05.2024
The Sarp border checkpoint has reached record exit rates. In one day, a total of 1,309 trucks passed through the checkpoint, of which 825 left and 484 entered. UND stated that the increase in the number of crossings through the Sarp border crossing has strengthened Turkey's transit position, and noted: "The central corridor running through our country has also gained strength."

UND (International Association of Freight Forwarders) issued a statement on the record number of crossings through the Sarp border crossing point and stated that this increase was the result of the work and efforts of the Sarp Customs administration.

The UND statement says that before the pandemic, about 450 export shipments were sent from Turkey to Georgia and Central Asian countries on average, and on May 26, 2024, thanks to the active efforts of the Sarp Customs Administration, the record for export shipments from Turkey to Georgia was broken.
