Aspects of bilateral cooperation in the gas sector were discussed at the meeting. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan Qian Naicheng.
First of all, the parties expressed sincere gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, as well as Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the opportunities created for the development of productive relations between Turkmenistan and China based on the principles of friendship, brotherhood, mutual respect and trust. As it was emphasized, great importance is attached to the further development of cooperation between the two countries at the highest state level.
The parties expressed their readiness to expand mutually beneficial Turkmen-Chinese partnership in various areas, including in the fuel and energy sector. Special attention is paid to the issues of deepening cooperation in the gas sector.
The participants of the meeting discussed the implementation of agreements previously reached in this area between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China, reviewed the current state of affairs, and exchanged views on the prospects for the development of relations.
Representatives of the Turkmen side noted that the oil and gas industry is the main branch of the economy of Turkmenistan, which plays an important role in ensuring the dynamic socio–economic development of our country.
Independent, neutral Turkmenistan, which possesses enormous hydrocarbon resources, under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, consistently implements a comprehensive strategy aimed at the innovative development of the domestic fuel and energy industry, initiated by Hero Arkadag. More efficient use of the rich potential of the oil and gas complex, modernization of the core infrastructure based on advanced technologies and developments are its important components. At the same time, special attention is paid to environmental issues, increasing the capacity of the extractive and processing industries, and developing export routes for "blue fuel" through diversification.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the possibilities of intensifying work in these areas and promising vectors of cooperation.
Issues related to the implementation of the second stage of the development of the Galkynyş gas field were also discussed.
The productive nature of joint activities with leading companies, including the world–famous largest company in China, CNPC, was noted.
The interest of foreign partners in expanding ties in the oil and gas sector is primarily due to the large-scale transformations taking place in our country in this sector of the economy, as well as the high level of interaction with leading business circles of the world. It was emphasized that favorable legal, financial and economic conditions have been created for the effective operation of foreign companies in the promising Turkmen market.
