The President of Turkmenistan received the head of British diplomacy

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth Affairs and Development of the United Kingdom David Cameron in Ashgabat, TDH reports.

The parties noted that the United Kingdom is one of Turkmenistan's key partners in the European region. The countries' relations are steadily developing on the basis of mutual understanding, friendship and mutual respect.

The meeting discussed the further development of Turkmen-British relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to the British side for supporting Turkmenistan's initiatives within the framework of the UN, in particular the Resolution "2025 is the International Year of Peace and Trust". David Cameron conveyed greetings and wishes from King Charles III and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

The Head of the Turkmen state stressed the role of neutrality in Turkmenistan's foreign policy. The parties discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in trade, the oil and gas industry, agriculture and new technologies. The issues of climate change and "green" growth, cultural dialogue were touched upon. They expressed readiness for partnership in the field of education, including the use of targeted programs and the promotion of English language teaching.
