Navigation on the Middle Volga began on April 10. The first vessel in navigation 2024, Grigory Potekhin, was moored in lock No. 25, which proceeded down the Volga along the Volgograd reservoir, which was opened for navigation from April 8-10, the press service of Rosmorrechflot reports.

It is noted that an idle lock was performed the day before. On the first day of navigation, two locks were performed.

The downstream is clean, the upper one is broken ice, and there are individual ice floes in the approach channel. In the Saratov reservoir there is solid ice up to Syzran, Rosmorrechflot clarified the situation in the area of the hydroelectric complex.

Earlier, navigation on the Lower Volga was opened on the Volgograd – Streletskoye section, 618.3 km away. By the end of the first week of this month, 484 illuminated buoys and 69 unlit ones were exposed. About 40 square kilometers have been drilled, riverbed surveys for 23.5 km have been carried out.

At the end of the first decade of April in the Volga basin, according to traffic controllers of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Administration of the Volga Basin", 36 units of the fleet were in motion.
