Beijing Transport Hub: how is the construction of the new administrative center of the capital of China going?

By the end of 2025, one of Asia's largest underground transport hubs will be opened in Beijing, revealing to the world the intermediate result of one of China's key and large-scale transport projects. It will connect and integrate the new administrative center of the city's municipal authorities into the country's infrastructure. The total cost of moving the administrative center, which, according to various estimates, is about 6-7 billion dollars, includes the construction of a transport hub that will connect Tongzhou, a new district of Beijing, with its historical center, nearby provinces and the largest cities of China. It is planned to build a complex of administrative buildings for the relocation of municipal authorities, an array of residential complexes, a transport hub and cultural and leisure facilities, as well as a business center.

The key object in this regard will be the transport hub (65% of the total construction budget). It is divided into a complex of surface and underground structures on an area of 61 hectares and a total construction area of 2.67 million square meters. The underground part of the complex with a construction volume of 1.39 million square meters will be built by the end of 2025. The total cost of its construction (including the ground part, where office skyscrapers with a maximum height of up to 200 meters will be presented) is 31.8 billion yuan (4.4 billion dollars).
