A new Hyundai Sonata business sedan has been officially unveiled in China. If before that the car could only be ordered, now retail sales are starting, and according to a long—standing Chinese tradition, the car turned out to be cheaper at retail - 19.4 thousand dollars against 20.9 thousand dollars at the pre-order stage.
The car is offered in three trim levels (Air, Pro and Max) with two engines: a 1.5-liter 170 hp and a 2-liter 250 hp. Both engines are combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The price of the top version with a 1.5 l engine is 22.5 thousand dollars, the top version with a 2.0—liter engine is 25.9 thousand dollars. Interestingly, the Sonata turned out to be more powerful and cheaper than the new Toyota Camry. The car is manufactured in China itself, at the Beijing Hyundai enterprise. The Chinese refer to the cars as the 11th generation, but all over the world it is a restyled version of the 8th generation Sonata.
The dimensions of the car are 4945 × 1860 × 1450 mm, the wheelbase is 2875 mm.
Externally, the Chinese Sonata is no different from the global one, and the same can be said about the cabin. The car received a panel with two screens with a diagonal of 12.3 inches, a gearbox mode switch on the steering lever, a multifunctional steering wheel, a media system with fingerprint recognition, BOSE acoustics with 12 speakers, as well as 27 different driver assistance systems.
