Meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan

On March 29, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the digital system, which included a number of public policy issues on the agenda. Opening the meeting, the head of Turkmenistan noted that according to the established tradition in our country, on the eve of the holy night of Gadyr Gidjesi, pardons are granted to citizens convicted of crimes committed, but regretting what they have done and sincerely repenting of it. Following the principles of humanism and mercy bequeathed by our great ancestors, noble actions are being carried out to free them from further punishment. Then the floor was given to the Secretary of the State Security Council, Chairman of the Commission for the Preparation of Proposals on Citizenship and Pardon issues under the President of Turkmenistan B.Gundogdiyev, who reported on the results of the work carried out by the Commission on pardoning convicted persons in honor of Gadyr Gidjesi. Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on pardoning 356 citizens of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the approaching holy Night of Omnipotence. The Chairman of the Commission was instructed to carry out, together with the heads of law enforcement agencies, the necessary work for the release of convicts from places of detention and their return to their families in the near future. The khakims of the velayats, etraps and cities, as well as other leaders, were instructed to take appropriate measures to employ the pardoned persons. The President of Turkmenistan wished the pardoned citizens to work conscientiously and inspiringly, joining in the large-scale transformations launched in the country, sincerely serve the Motherland and live rejoicing in the fruits of their labor. Then the Chairman of the Mejlis, D.Gulmanova, spoke, informing about the activities to improve the national legal framework, in particular, bringing current legislative acts into line with the realities of the time and preparing new bills. Along with this, it was reported about preparations for the next meeting of the Mejlis. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H.Geldimyradov reported on the measures taken to improve the effectiveness of state property management, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and the creation of a favorable business environment. Deputy Prime Minister B.Amanov, reporting on the state of affairs in the supervised structures, reported on measures to provide the State Concern Turkmennebit with the necessary products, including pipe products used in drilling, development and overhaul of oil and gas wells. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T.Atakhalliyev reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the regions of the country. Then Deputy Prime Minister B.Annamammedov reported on the measures being implemented to transform the urban appearance of the Turkmen capital and improve the living conditions of the country's population. As part of the implementation of the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028", modern residential buildings, as well as a number of social and infrastructural facilities are planned to be built in the residential area "Parahat-7".

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B.Atdaev, who then spoke, reported on the preparations for the Exhibition of the shopping complex, which is scheduled to be held on April 3-5 in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Deputy Prime Minister M.Mammadova reported on the Order of the main events and the opening of social facilities in April this year. Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers N.Amannepesov reported on the upcoming physical culture, sports, wellness and cultural events dedicated to World Health Day. Then Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov reported on the ongoing work to strengthen Turkmenistan's cooperation with the United Nations in the field of sustainable development. Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers M.Chakyev reported on the measures being taken to train international-level specialists in the field of road transport.

Then, addressing the members of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Head of State noted that at the recent 63rd plenary session of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, a historic Resolution initiated by Turkmenistan was unanimously adopted, according to which 2025 was declared the International Year of Peace and Trust. This poses a number of organizational issues for us, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov continued, emphasizing the need to create a State Commission of Government members to ensure the proper organization of upcoming celebrations of national importance on the occasion of this international event. Various forums to be held in 2025 in honor of the International Year of Peace and Trust will contribute to increasing the authority of the independent neutral Motherland on the world stage, the head of Turkmenistan stressed.
