On March 25, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on the digital system with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T.Atahalliev, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, and hakimov velayats, at which the progress of seasonal field work in the country and issues of development of the domestic agro-industrial complex were considered.
The hakims of the velayats reported on the pace of agricultural campaigns in the regions. As noted, cotton sowing has started in the velayats these days, and therefore the necessary measures are being taken to complete it within the agrotechnical time frame. The necessary amount of high-quality seed material adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the region has been prepared in the Dashoguz velayat, fields are being plowed and moisture-charging irrigation is underway. Special attention is paid to the operation of agricultural machinery and aggregates at full capacity.
At the same time, fertilizing with mineral fertilizers and vegetative watering of wheat are continuing. Care work is carried out in accordance with the norms of agricultural technology for potatoes and other crops, sowing of other vegetable crops. Preparations for the cocoon production season are also underway, including providing silkworm grooms to silkworms and concluding contracts with them.
In addition, reports were made on the progress of construction in the regions within the framework of the Program for Socio-economic Development of the country in 2022-2028 and the National Rural Program of facilities for various purposes, the commissioning of which is scheduled for the current year.
Then, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T.Atahalliyev, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, reported on the progress of agricultural campaigns in the country, summarizing the reports of the heads of velayat administrations.
After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector in the national economy and noted the need for seasonal agricultural work at a high level. In this regard, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to keep under strict control the organized and timely sowing of cotton and proper care of wheat.
Addressing the participants of the workshop, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that one of the main conditions for obtaining rich harvests in the future is to carry out current agricultural work in accordance with the norms of agricultural technology, instructing to ensure proper care of crops, as well as organized preparation for the season of production of silkworm cocoons.
