I sincerely congratulate you on the launch ceremony of the events on the occasion of the announcement of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024 by the International Organization of Turkic Culture – TURKSOY!
Today, independent neutral Turkmenistan, consistently building up its partnership with the world's states and international organizations, remains committed to the status of permanent neutrality, which allows us to successfully promote a systematic course towards maintaining peace, friendship and brotherhood on a global scale. Within the framework of a targeted cultural policy, which has a progressive dynamics, cultural and humanitarian dialogue with members of the world community, especially with the Turkic states, is coming to the fore.
International cooperation in the field of culture between Turkmenistan and TURKSA is also intensifying, an example of which is the announcement of Mary as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2015. In commemoration of the mentioned event, dozens of thematic events were held with the participation of guests from the Turkic states. All of them were held at a high level and entered the annals of history.
The cultural events organized by TURKSA in Turkmenistan and in the Turkic states today serve as a factor in strengthening the foundations of friendly relations.
Many concerts, creative meetings and exhibitions are held with the participation of cultural and art figures, poets and prose writers, artists of the Organization's member countries. Such events, in turn, play an important role in popularizing the spiritual and cultural values of the Turkic peoples and a wide exchange of experience.

TURKSOY declared 2024 "The Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world – Makhtumkuli Fragi", and the city of Anau is the cultural capital of the Turkic world, and this has a special meaningful message, since these glorious events echo the celebrations marking the 300th anniversary of the outstanding thinker and classic poet of the East Makhtumkuli Fragi. The poems of the titan of wisdom and the genius of the artistic word, which sound like an appeal to friendship, brotherhood, unification, peaceful coexistence and humanism, have penetrated into the hearts and minds of people. Today, his works, filled with wisdom, have resulted in the melody of unity, friendship and brotherhood, which is heard in all parts of the world – both in Turkic and in other countries of the world.
The proclamation of the motto of 2024 in Turkmenistan "The Storehouse of the Mind of Makhtumkuli Fraga" is a manifestation of the deep respect of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Hero–Arkadag, for the poet and thinker, and this, in turn, is an obvious factor in increasing the glory of the wise Fraga throughout the Earth.

Anau is one of the ancient cities that played an amazing role in the glorious history of our people. It contains monuments of national culture and bygone times. In 1904, archaeological excavations took place in the Anau hills, as a result of which a lot of valuable information about agricultural culture was discovered, which developed rapidly here during the Eneolithic era. During archaeological expeditions in the cultural layers of the Copper-Stone Age, fragments of the walls of structures, tools, and ceramic products were revealed. Among the finds are grains of wheat ak bugday. This fact became the reason for the construction of the National Museum "Ak bugdaý" in the city of Anau.
The archaeological culture of the Eneolithic era after the mentioned discoveries was called the "Anau culture", which caused a sensation in the world scientific community. In the middle of the XX century, several more monuments of the Anau culture were identified. The heyday of the Anau fortress, located on the Great Silk Road, occurred during the Middle Ages, and now our modern city of Anau is flourishing on the same scale, which is systematically being built up with social infrastructure facilities.

I hope that the upcoming cultural events on the occasion of the announcement of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024 will further strengthen the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the member countries of TURKSOY. The program is very rich, it includes the International Scientific Conference "Ancient Anau culture", the media forum "Turkmen Land – the center of ancient civilizations", an exhibition of works by artists, masters of fine and decorative arts and works by photographers of the Turkic peoples. I am sure that all these events will contribute to the development of creative partnership between representatives of culture and art of our peoples.
