During the negotiations between the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Italy Matteo Salvini and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, agreements were reached on cooperation in the field of railway transport, port and sea communications within the framework of agreements signed by Italy and Turkmenistan.
Two memorandums of understanding were signed with the Turkmen side – with the Office of the Port System of the Central part of the Tyrrhenian Sea and with the Italian railway network Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) regarding cooperation between ports, maritime communications and in the field of railway systems and intermodal hubs.
The agreements will have a positive impact on cooperation between the seaports of Italy and Turkmenistan, as well as transport links between the two countries.
