Tariffs on the use of navigation seals in the EAEU have so far been approved only in Belarus. In the other member States of the Union, they are under approval. Vadim Zakharenko, Head of the IRU Permanent Mission in Eurasia, told about this at TransRussia 2024. – The financial costs that carriers will incur during long–distance transportation, according to our estimates, can reach 20% of the freight cost, - the expert noted.
In 2023, representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Federation adopted general rules according to which cargo transportation will be carried out using an electronic navigation seal. At the first stage, only some groups of goods will be sealed, the expert said. These include excisable products (alcohol and tobacco), sanctioned and highly profitable goods (clothing, shoes and equipment), the EEC Minister of Customs Cooperation Eldar Alisherov said earlier. At the second stage of the implementation of navigation seals, they will be installed on most of the goods transported across the EAEU countries by road, at the third stage – on goods shipped by rail.
