Mammetkhan Chakiyev, Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, reported on the results of the activities of subordinate institutions for four months of this year. Thus, in January–April 2024, the growth rate for completed works and services rendered in the country's transport and communication complex amounted to 118%, which is significantly higher than the production plan.
This figure for freight and passenger transportation on all modes of transport is 103.5 and 102.6 percent, respectively.
The growth rate for the provision of services in January–April for the agency "Türkmendemirýollary" reached 104.3 percent, the agency "Türkmenawtoulaglary" – 110.5 percent, the agency "Türkmenhowaýollary" – 161.2 percent, the agency "Türkmendeñizderýaýollary" – 114.8 percent, the agency "Türkmenaragatnaşyk" – 111.9 percent.
Information was also provided on measures taken in accordance with the "Concept for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025".
Along with this, it was reported on the progress of construction in various parts of the Motherland of industrial and social facilities for the transport and communication complex.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to increase the volume of international cargo transportation through the effective use of the country's transport and transit potential. It is also necessary to constantly modernize the material and technical support of the industry, the head of state noted, addressing the relevant instructions to the head of the Agency.
