Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard CJSC and the South Korean Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co. plan to commence the construction of two bulk carriers in July of this year.
As reported by official Turkmen media on Friday, the companies have signed corresponding contracts for the design and joint construction of two bulk carriers with a capacity of 6,100 tons each. Currently, preparations are underway to start the construction of the new vessels.
According to the report, more than 300 workers will be involved in the shipbuilding process.
Recently, Korean specialists conducted a two-month specialized training course on construction planning, technology implementation, ship detail design, welding, electrical installation, and quality control.
On January 29, 2024, the management of the Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard CJCS held a meeting with representatives of Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd.
