A modern Güneşli Center for Children and Youth will be built in Ashgabat, according to a decree signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The facility will include an observatory and a digital library, reports TDH.
The decree authorizes the Ministry of Education to sign a contract for the design and construction of the new center, which will be equipped with advanced technology and built in accordance with international standards. The surrounding area will also undergo landscaping and development.
The complex will house the State Children's Library named after Bazar Amanov, which will be outfitted with state-of-the-art digital technologies. A key feature of the project is an observatory with a telescope for space observation, to be funded by the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
According to the decree, construction is scheduled to begin in June 2025, with completion expected by May 2027.
The project aims to contribute to the “development of the national education system and the strengthening of the material and technical base of educational institutions in Turkmenistan through the use of modern technologies.”
