Turkmenistan drafts law on virtual assets and mining

Turkmenistan is in the process of drafting a law on virtual assets and mining, according to a report by TDH. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Khojamyrat Geldimyradov, presented updates on the initiative during a government meeting, in response to instructions given by the head of state.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, a draft law titled “On Virtual Assets” has been prepared. The proposed legislation aims to regulate legal relations in this area.
The document includes general and final provisions, as well as regulations concerning state oversight of activities related to virtual assets, mining, issuance and public offering of digital assets, and service providers operating in this sector.
The adoption of this law is expected to attract investment, support the development of financial technologies, and stimulate entrepreneurial activity in the field of digital services.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, after hearing the report, emphasized the importance of legal regulation in the circulation of virtual assets, especially amid the rapid development of digital technologies and the digital economy. The head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to work closely with the Mejlis (Parliament) on further development of the draft law “On Virtual Assets.”
