President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyev and the hyakims (governors) of the country’s velayats (provinces), during which pressing issues of the agricultural sector and the progress of preparations for the upcoming grain harvest were discussed. According to TDH, during the meeting, the hyakims of all velayats reported on their readiness for the grain harvest, ongoing work in cotton fields—including inter-row cultivation, thinning, and weeding—as well as the collection of silkworm cocoons and care of vegetable and melon crops. Special attention was given to the preparedness of grain-harvesting combines, transport vehicles, and grain reception points for the harvesting season. The President emphasized the need for strict adherence to agrotechnical standards at all stages of agricultural production as a key condition for obtaining a high-quality harvest. He gave specific instructions for the organized execution of the grain harvesting campaign, the efficient use of agricultural machinery, and the completion of rice planting in the Dashoguz velayat. Additional directives were issued regarding the timely settlement of accounts between agricultural producers and service enterprises, as well as proper preparations for the “Last Bell” ceremony, which will take place on May 25 in all public educational institutions of the country. During the meeting, the hyakim of Balkan velayat, H. Ashyrmyradov, also reported on the outcomes of his working visit to Gulistan in the Islamic Republic of Iran, where issues of trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation between the regions of the two countries were discussed.
