Serdar Berdimuhamedov held talks with Ursula von der Leyen

During his working visit to Samarkand, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, TDH reports. During the talks, the head of Turkmenistan emphasized that he attaches particular importance to expanding cooperation with the European Union. According to Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Ashgabat intends to develop partnership not only in the economic, energy, technological and transport spheres, but also in the fields of culture and education. The parties noted that at the present stage, bilateral cooperation includes important issues related to the economy and energy supply. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmenistan pays special attention to the introduction of new technologies and ensuring the stability of energy resources in accordance with the green energy policy promoted by the European Union. The head of state highly appreciated the level of partnership with the European Union and confirmed the country's readiness for further effective development of relations. Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Central Asia-European Union summit, which will also be attended by the heads of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The European Union is represented at the meeting by European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The main events of the summit will be held on April 4.
