National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during his working visit to the Balkan velayat, got acquainted with the progress of construction of the new international airport in the village of Jebel. The air harbor, which is in the final stage of construction, is designed to strengthen the country's transport and transit potential and increase the volume of cargo and passenger traffic. During the inspection, a test landing of the aircraft took place to test the runway, which confirmed the high quality of construction and compliance of the facility with international standards, the state news agency TDH reports. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the special importance of the new airport for the integration of Turkmenistan into the global economic space and solving the problems of sustainable development. According to him, the airport will also provide a high level of service to passengers coming to the Mollakara sanatorium for rest and health improvement. In addition to the runway, the territory of the future aviation complex will include access roads, hangars for aircraft parking, passenger terminals, a control tower, as well as other technical and service facilities.
