Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Invites Emir of Qatar to International Peace and Trust Forum

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a telephone conversation, invited the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to the International Peace and Trust Forum, scheduled to take place on December 12 in Ashgabat, reports TDH. During the conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Emir of Qatar congratulated each other and the friendly peoples of the two countries on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. They expressed wishes that the fasting, prayers, and good deeds performed during this blessed month be accepted by the Almighty. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty noted that Turkmenistan highly values the relations established with the State of Qatar in recent years and attaches great importance to their expansion across all priority areas. He also expressed sincere gratitude to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his contribution to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. The Emir of the State of Qatar emphasized the significance of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's multifaceted activities in strengthening traditionally friendly interstate relations. He also took the opportunity to convey greetings and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. As noted during the telephone conversation, Turkmenistan and Qatar successfully cooperate both on a bilateral basis and through international structures. A clear testament to this is the mutual support for initiatives and proposals put forward by the two countries within the framework of reputable international organizations. Trade and economic relations are a key area of interstate cooperation. In this regard, the National Leader of the Turkmen people highlighted the prospects for Turkmen-Qatari interaction in areas such as the oil and gas sector, chemical and textile industries, investment, transport, and trade. He expressed confidence that, based on existing potential and accumulated positive experience, mutually beneficial projects in these areas would be successfully implemented. It was noted that the peoples of the two countries share similarities in history, culture, traditions, customs, and spiritual and moral values. This serves as a solid foundation for the further development of bilateral cultural and humanitarian cooperation. In this context, the National Leader of the Turkmen people reaffirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to traditional mutually beneficial relations with Qatar, expressing confidence that the established interstate dialogue for the well-being and prosperity of the two countries and peoples would continue to develop. As is known, the current year is significant for Turkmenistan. At the initiative of Turkmenistan, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a special Resolution declaring "2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust." In this regard, work is underway to organize and hold high-level political events in cooperation with neighboring countries and international structures. On December 12, 2025, in Ashgabat, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality, the International Peace and Trust Forum will take place. The National Leader of the Turkmen people invited Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to participate in this international forum and the celebratory events, noting that his presence would contribute to their success.
