International Energy Secretary General to Present Environmental Agenda at TEIF 2025

On 23-24 April 2025, Kuala Lumpur will host the Turkmenistan Investment Initiative Forum (TEIF 2025), where Secretary General of the International Energy Charter Atsuko Hirose will be one of the key speakers. Her participation will highlight the importance of international cooperation in the field of energy and environmental sustainability. Ms. Hirose will speak at the fifth session of the forum, which will focus on strategies to reduce methane and CO₂ emissions, as well as the introduction of innovative technologies in the energy sector. Particular emphasis will be placed on Turkmenistan's participation in the Global Methane Agreement and cooperation with the International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO). An important aspect of the program will be the discussion of specific projects, including the construction of a 10-megawatt hybrid solar-wind power plant near the Altyn Asyr lake, which demonstrates the country's commitment to the development of renewable energy. Turkmenistan's cooperation with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the implementation of environmental projects in the Caspian and Aral Seas will also be considered.
