Turkmenistan's diplomats presented the concept of the International Year of Peace – 2025 in Moscow and Minsk

On January 22, representatives of Turkmenistan simultaneously presented the country's international initiative in two capitals. In Moscow and Minsk, diplomats spoke about the concept of the International Year of Peace and Trust, which will be celebrated in 2025, the website of the CIS Executive Committee reports. Esen Aydogdiyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, spoke at a meeting of the CIS Executive Committee in Moscow. He stressed that the resolution declaring 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust was unanimously adopted at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly with the co-authorship of 86 states. At the same time, in Minsk, at the first meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiaries of the CIS countries this year, the Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of Turkmenistan to the statutory bodies of the CIS, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Belarus Nazarkuly Shakulyev made a similar statement. According to Turkmen diplomats, this initiative is a practical embodiment of the philosophy of "Dialogue is a guarantee of peace" proposed by Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Turkmenistan considers the coming year as an opportunity for a qualitative transition to a new stage of international relations. The culmination of the International Year of Peace and Trust will be a large-scale international forum in December 2025, which will also be timed to coincide with the International Day of Neutrality and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality.
