The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan issued Order No. 392 on December 9, 2024, introducing amendments and additions to the Guide on the Application of the Procedure for Recognizing Higher and Secondary Professional Education Documents Issued in Foreign Countries (previously approved by Order No. 80 of the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan on March 29, 2019). This order makes significant changes to the procedure for recognizing foreign diplomas in Turkmenistan. Key changes affect two categories of graduates: 1. Students who, due to extraordinary circumstances, were forced to continue their studies at a foreign university remotely, must undergo a test to demonstrate their proficiency in electronic and distance learning technologies. A special State Examination Commission will be established to conduct exams for lawyers, which will include representatives from: • The Supreme Court of Turkmenistan • The General Prosecutor's Office • The Ministry of Justice • The Ministry of National Security • The Ministry of Internal Affairs • Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly • The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan • The International University for the Humanities and Development These changes aim to ensure the quality of legal education and the compliance of graduates' knowledge with the requirements of Turkmenistan's national legislation.
