President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the people of Turkmenistan on the New Year, 2025. The text of the address is provided by TDH. 'Dear compatriots! The year 2024, whose motto is "The Treasury of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy," is coming to an end, and very soon we will welcome the new year, 2025. The upcoming year according to the Eastern calendar is the Year of the Snake. The outgoing year has been one of the most significant in the recent history of our independent Motherland, marked by significant achievements in the lives of our citizens and the implementation of grand-scale initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag. This year, many modern schools, kindergartens, medical and sports facilities, cultural institutions, production facilities, and more have been opened across the country. Thousands of families have become happy owners of new homes. Significant successes have been achieved in all areas. In the fuel and energy sector alone, several major projects have been implemented: we started laying the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, specifically the Serhetabat-Herat section, known as "Arkadagyň ak ýoly"; ceremonies were held for the opening and laying of major energy and transport-communication infrastructure facilities. At the same time, the second phase of the Baherden and Lebap cement plants was launched in the Ahal and Lebap regions, respectively, power plants and a high-voltage power transmission line along the Balkan-Dashoguz route began operating. Modern water treatment facilities were also commissioned. In a picturesque corner of the Kopetdag, the cultural and park complex "Magtymguly Pyragy" and a monument to the poet-thinker were solemnly opened. The architectural beauty of our capital has been significantly enhanced with the opening of a complex of new buildings of the Berdymukhamed Annaev Specialized Military School and other facilities. The construction of the second phase of the city of Arkadag also continued. The Concept for the Development of the City of Arkadag for 2024-2052 was adopted. At international exhibitions, our smart city received several prestigious awards. In short, the construction of modern villages and housing facilities is progressing steadily, fully demonstrating the economic potential of our sovereign Motherland and our grand achievements. Dear Turkmen citizens! The reforms in the agricultural sector are also marked by success. In the outgoing year, state procurement prices for cotton and wheat grown on our fertile land were increased. Tireless farmers brilliantly fulfilled their contractual obligations, delivering more than 1.4 million tons of selected grain to the state: the high grain harvest is the wealth of our native people and sovereign Motherland, a source of abundance and prosperity. In the future, we intend to continue targeted measures to economically stimulate field workers and strengthen the material and technical base of the industry. Much is being done in the oil and gas, transport-communication, and trade-entrepreneurial sectors: they make a significant contribution to the achievements of our sovereign state. Dear compatriots! The health and happy life of the people are among the priorities of our state policy. The International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology, the International Health and Rehabilitation Center, and other medical institutions have been put into operation in the country. Activities to protect the health of the population will continue to be in the focus of the state. Constructive reforms have been implemented in the fields of science and education. We will always pay great attention to the education of an educated, erudite, and patriotic generation, supporting the initiatives of the youth. We are doing a lot of work to massively involve young citizens in sports and to raise the country's sports prestige on the international stage: at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Resolution "United Nations Friendship Games" initiated by Turkmenistan was adopted. At the same time, Ashgabat was declared the City of New Sports Opportunities of the Commonwealth. All this has become another recognition of our state's significant contribution to the development of sports and the promotion of sports diplomacy. Dear Turkmen citizens! This year, our country was elected to the United Nations Commission for Social Development for 2025-2029. Based on the Resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan, 2025 was declared the "International Year of Peace and Trust." The Resolutions "Central Asia - a Zone of Peace, Trust, and Cooperation" and "Treaty on a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in Central Asia" were also unanimously adopted - they are of great importance in strengthening cooperation with the United Nations. The support of these international initiatives of Turkmenistan by the majority of United Nations member states is a great honor for us and once again clearly demonstrates their orientation towards the interests of all humanity and recognition by the international community. In the year "The Treasury of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy," we held the International Forum "The Interconnection of Times and Civilizations - the Basis of Peace and Development" at a high level. This Forum, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy, significantly raised the authority of Turkmenistan as a peace-loving state. For great merits in collecting, carefully preserving, studying, and popularizing the rich literary heritage of the outstanding master of artistic words, our compatriots and foreign citizens were awarded the Turkmenistan Jubilee Medal "Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna" and a commemorative badge. In 2024, the city of Anau received the prestigious status of the cultural capital of the Turkic world, and many international events were organized in this regard. We are also doing a lot of work to develop national culture, preserve our heritage, and popularize them. The outgoing year was marked by a series of international cultural events, Culture Days. The Culture Week in the city of Arkadag played a huge role in enriching the culture and art of our people. In the coming year, we will hold the Culture Week at a high level in the Ahal region. In general, the outgoing year 2024 was marked by great labor achievements and the enhancement of the authority and glory of our sovereign Motherland. Dear friends! In the coming year, we will hold large-scale international events in our country and abroad on the occasion of the declaration of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" by the United Nations General Assembly. We will also celebrate the significant date - the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality - at a high level. We will continue our activities to maintain peace and trust on the planet and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Dear compatriots! To improve the well-being of citizens, we will again increase the sizes of wages, pensions, state benefits, and student scholarships by 10 percent from January 1 of the new year. The New Year, which we meet with bright dreams, will also be very successful and full of new achievements. In achieving these grand goals, we rely on the strength and energy of our citizens, their perseverance in work. Together with our courageous people, we will work hard to turn our beloved Motherland into a land of happiness and prosperity. Dear compatriots!
