On December 13, a meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Framework Program for Cooperation in Sustainable Development between Turkmenistan and the UN for 2021-2025 was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting, held in a hybrid format, was attended by leaders and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, heads and representatives of several ministries and departments of the country, the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, and heads and representatives of UN structural units.
The Framework Program for Cooperation in Sustainable Development is one of the key documents that defines the development of the partnership between Turkmenistan and the UN and its agencies on a systematic basis, and is based on medium- and long-term programs and plans for joint activities.
Participants reviewed the UN's recommendations for the final assessment of the implementation of the Framework Program for the period 2021-2025.
The work done by each of the five groups based on the results of the mentioned document was also highlighted; the activities for developing the next cycle of the Framework Program for 2026-2030 were discussed.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan will continue to coordinate the development of the document at the interdepartmental level, contributing to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, said Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
