Turkmenistan is preparing to hold an international forum on the occasion of World Sustainable Transport Day

According to the relevant decree of the President of Turkmenistan, preparations are underway in the country to hold the international conference and exhibition 'International Transport Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2024' on November 26-27. According to the conference schedule, a high-level plenary session is planned, and various issues will be considered in several sessions. Also, on the occasion of the recognition of November 26 as 'World Sustainable Transport Day' based on the Resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the second ministerial meeting of the Group of Friends of Sustainable Transport titled 'Safe Roads for All' will be held jointly with the UN. The event is planned to be organized. It is expected that about 600 representatives from more than 40 countries of the world and Turkmenistan, as well as more than 50 representatives via digital network, will participate in the international conference. According to TDH, at the next government meeting, the General Director of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, M. Chakyyev, reported to the Turkmen leader. Commenting on the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is strengthening its position as an important transport and logistics center of regional and climatic significance, the work of the country's transport and communication complex is constantly being improved, and international cooperation in this area is being further developed. On the occasion of World Sustainable Transport Day, the Turkmen leader emphasized the importance of holding the international conference and exhibition 'International Transport Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2024' at a high level and gave the head of the agency a number of instructions in this regard.
