Turkmenistan and Damen Shipyards discussed joint production of dredgers

The Dutch shipbuilding company Damen Shipyards and the Joint-Stock Company "Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant 'Balkan'" held negotiations on cooperation in the production of river dredgers, reports nCa. The meeting took place on November 19 during a visit by a delegation led by Kommer Damen to the enterprise in the city of Turkmenbashi.
Representatives of the Turkmenistan Maritime and River Transport Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary" also participated in the negotiations. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the shipbuilding sector, with a particular focus on the production of dredging equipment.
During the visit, the Dutch delegation inspected the production capacities of the "Balkan" plant and familiarized themselves with the construction process of two new cargo ships. According to the enterprise, Damen's dredgers are actively used in Turkmenistan for dredging operations, port infrastructure construction, and the extraction of non-metallic materials.
