Political consultations between the foreign policy departments of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, led by Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanow and Imomi Sodik Ashurbozada, were held in Dushanbe, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the consultations, political and diplomatic relations between the two countries were discussed, emphasizing the importance of regular high-level contacts. Special attention was paid to issues of interaction within regional and international structures, particularly the UN.
The interlocutors noted the effectiveness of the partnership between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs. In this context, the diplomats highly appreciated the level of relations within the framework of the current Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries. At the same time, issues related to improving the contractual and legal framework of bilateral relations were considered.
The parties assessed the state of trade, economic, and investment partnership. It was emphasized that it is necessary to improve conditions that contribute to the further development of ties in this direction, including issues of increasing export-import operations and expanding the range of provided goods and services.
In addition, the members of the delegations drew attention to the cultural and humanitarian direction of cooperation. The positive experience of interaction in the field of science and education was noted. The parties agreed to continue the practice of organizing cultural and scientific exchanges.
During his visit to Tajikistan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan A. Gurbanow also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of Turkmen-Tajik cooperation, as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest.
