At the 11th summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG), held in Bishkek, a new flag of the organization was adopted and presented.
According to the Report agency, the new flag depicts an octagon, a crescent moon with a star and the sun with direct rays in the center on a blue background.
The blue background (Pantone 3125C shade) symbolizes clear skies, peace and prosperity, and expresses the unity of the Turkic peoples. The octagon represents the centuries-old Turkic statehood, symbolizing stability, interconnectedness and strength based on a common cultural heritage.
The sun with forty evenly diverging rays embodies light, openness and vitality, embodying common values and vision that illuminate the path of the Turkic world to a brighter and more prosperous future.
The crescent moon and star are a well-known symbol of Turkic statehood, growth, aspiration for the future and progress, reflecting the dynamic and aspiring spirit of the Organization.
