Shagul Bakiyeva, a student from Turkmenistan, became one of the key figures at the 2024 World Young Scientists Summit (WYSS), which opened on November 15 at Wenzhou Medical University (WMU). The young researcher represented the university's international students and received personal recognition from a Nobel laureate.
'Shagul is a bright example of the spirit of WYSS, which unites the cultures and sciences of the whole world. With excellent academic performance and love for her profession, she actively shares her attachment to WMU and pride in her homeland, Turkmenistan,' noted Nobel laureate Michel Hartmut after meeting with the students.
During the summit, the Turkmen student organized a meeting with Michel Hartmut for her fellow students, during which they discussed the prospects for the development of medicine and the support of young talents. In addition, the university president, academician Li Xiaokun, personally presented Shagul with his book on research in the field of fibroblast growth factors.
'WMU has given me a lot: knowledge, inspiration, opportunities. I proudly carry these values while remaining true to my roots,' said Shagul Bakiyeva emphasizing the importance of international education for the development of medical science in Turkmenistan.
The summit, which brought together prominent academics and promising young scientists from around the world, became a platform for strengthening international scientific cooperation and exchanging experiences among representatives of different countries, including Turkmenistan.
